Remember how I was posting all kinds of stuff about signs, and focusing on things you love to do no matter how good or bad you are at them? Of course you do, they’re right down there. Well, I wrote all that stuff fully believing in it and the power of manifestation but now I am here to tell you to KEEP BELIEVING, and as Ben Gravy would say KEEP PUSHING FOR THE DREAM.
A few days after getting back from Mammoth, I got a text from my friend Hunter who I used to film paintball events with a few years back. Out of absolutely no where, “Wanna go to Spain?” My response, “Uh, duh?” There’s a European tour of paintball events, and they needed people last minute to come put on a live webcast. Thankfully Hunter always has my back and brought my name up immediately. Only one problem… we would leave in 12 days and my passport was expired.
The next day I was super bummed, because I just thought there was no possible way to get a passport back that fast. Until I found RushMyPassport.com. Yes I sound like an advertisement, but holy hell it worked. Definitely not for the faint of heart, or anyone who has difficulty following extremely precise directions, but they got me my passport back 3 business days after I submitted my order. Amazing. 9 days later I was off to Spain.
This was actually the first time Zach and I had been apart for an extended amount of time since we started dating. I knew it wouldn’t be super fun, but I was kind of surprised to find myself wiping away tears as I backed out of the driveway. Always a good reminder how much someone means to you when you’re missing them.
I had to make a 3 hour drive, then a flight to Boston, over to Dublin, then finally the next morning we arrived in Barcelona. After two days of set up and set backs, we had 3 full days of webcast and honestly for 3 people who have never used any of the gear we were given – it came out pretty damn good. I won’t go into too much detail about the trip, but keep an eye out for the full recap via video soon.
I am writing this 10 days after arriving home sitting in yet another plane. This time to Orlando, en route to film another paintball event (NCPA Nationals). Although maybe filming paintball specifically isn’t necessarily a “dream job,” filming anything and particularly any sport is. I have been invited to film the next 3 NXL Europe events this summer: Paris, Prague, and Amsterdam. I won’t have an exorbitant amount of time to explore those cities, but I will have some and for that I couldn’t be more excited.
All this to say, if you keep doing what you love and keep pushing, eventually the universe will throw something your way you probably couldn’t have even known to ask for. Stay focused, guys we got this. Love you all!
